Professional Music Mastering Made Easy!

Mastering is the final phase of getting your music ready to play out. The art of mastering can be a daunting process, with often complex theories involved. Being able to increase the loudness of a track whilst keeping the dynamics is a tricky process which requires the use of professional software and hardware, in a properly treated environment.

The goal of mastering is to balance the audio and optimise it for playback across all media platforms, including cars, home hi-fi systems and most importantly, the club! Mastering will bring the levels up, balance stereo width and add slight compression to bring out the dynamics in the audio. Any harsh sounds, ‘clicks’ or ‘pops’ will also be corrected.

Mixing vs Mastering

What's the difference?

Mixing

Mixing is the first part of the process. The mix down process will ensure each individual instrument in the track, be it the kick, snare, clap, hi-hat or the bass and ensure it is in correct proportion to all the other instruments. EQ takes a critical role here to ensure that each track is dominant in it’s own space within the mix, ensuring no frequencies clash.

Mastering

Mastering is the process after mixing. The goal here is to bring up the overall loudness of the track, whilst keeping the dynamic range in tact. The result will be a fully polish record that is ready for distribution.

What's right for me?

If you are confident in your ability, and you have mixed all the elements of the track to the best of your ability, then there may not be a need for a mix down. However if you are unsure or would like extra piece of mind, then let our professionals take care of it for you.
